Trail Appliances BC is seeking an experienced transportation and warehousing leader to enhance their delivery efficiencies, streamline warehousing operations and provide effective leadership to a team in the context of a compelling corporate culture.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Home Delivery and Warehouse will provide leadership to outbound delivery team who ship appliances direct to customers’ homes and to condo and townhouse developments for Trail’s builder sales (wholesale business).
The new Director will also review both the retail and builder warehouse operations as they expand their square footage from 90,000 square feet of storage space to 150,000 square feet next spring.
Warehousing and housekeeping disciplines will need to be enhanced to operate in this larger facility. Working closely and building strong relationships with the whole Senior Leadership Team and industry players will play a key role in aligning the transportation and warehousing division to improve customer experiences and ensure that Trail operates as a cohesive team.
The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success in a senior logistics role that combines transportation / delivery services and warehousing.
Has the demonstrated ability to improve transportation logistics of a complex customer-oriented delivery or parallel service and can lead a warehouse team effectively.
Experience working in, or familiarity with, an omni-channel environment will be of significant value. Demonstrated experience introducing new initiatives, implementing analytics to support delivery and distribution activities, and enhancing the professionalism of a customer-facing team will be highly valued.
Based in Trail’s soon to be expanded distribution centre on Annacis Island in Richmond, BC, this is a tremendous opportunity for a transportation and distribution leader to build on a solid foundation, expand a facility and improve a delivery network for a respected brand as they roll out an e-commerce platform and continue to expand.
