The Enterprise Systems Transformation Program is a multi-year initiative that will implement a single, modernized, core enterprise resource planning software solution.

The Enterprise Systems Transformation Program will result in lower software costs for the City of Edmonton, standardize working processes, increase efficiency and result in greater integration between areas such as Finance, Human Resources and Inventory and Warehouse Management.

Reporting to the Branch Manager leading the Enterprise Systems Transformation Program, the Enterprise Asset Management Stream Lead is accountable for the end to end management of complex, corporate-

wide projects and initiatives. This includes making operational project decisions, leading staff and project teams who may report to other areas, and making budget and timeline decisions.

  • The Stream Lead is accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects. This includes owning the responsibility for every deliverable, objective and outcome of the project;
  • exercising influence, collaborating, communicating effectively, mediating issues and problem-solving. Working in an integrated model, the Enterprise Asset Management Stream Lead is accountable to :

  • Lead the Enterprise Asset Management Strategy
  • Lead Asset Management System Rationalization and Enterprise Systems Transformation Program Systems Integration
  • Prioritize and lead multiple, cross-departmental, complex projects involving a variety of stakeholders
  • Utilize project management systems and best practices to deliver projects efficiently and effectively Implement robust and proactive stakeholder engagement plans, activities and processes
  • Manage, monitor and report on progress and project status and health through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring the project is on budget, on schedule, and within the defined scope and quality Identify, manage and mitigate risk to the projects and to the City of Edmonton
  • Develop and steward relationships that support the success of the projects
  • Develop and implement public and stakeholder engagement processes and activities, working in collaboration with the Communications & Engagement Department and the Change Management Stream Lead
  • Chair and / or participate in steering committee meetings, and other project-related meetings
  • Support the procurement and contract processes, including tender documents, review of proposals / bids, and make recommendations for acceptance
  • Guide and coordinate the day to day work of consultants and contractors
  • Develop project-related reports for Council, Executive Leadership Team, Financial & Corporate Services Leadership Team, and others as required
  • Perform project wrap up / closing activities such as conducting post-project evaluations and capturing lessons learned
  • Demonstrate the ability to model the Cultural Commitments of Safe; Helpful; Accountable; Integrated; and Excellent, and inspire the same in others
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Project Management, or other related disciplines
  • Master’s Degree would be considered an asset
  • Additional certification and / or training in financial management; public administration; government relations; project management;
  • and / or change management would be an asset

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible project management experience
  • Experience managing large scale, enterprise-wide technology projects
  • Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act and other related legislation, bylaws and policies
  • Strong project management skills including an understanding of project management methods and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams Proven planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing and implementing public / stakeholder engagement processes
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience in solving complex and sensitive issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation, report writing and presenting
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated manner
  • Experience managing and working with external consultants
  • Ability and willingness to delegate and empower others
