Reporting to a team lead, The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for the health and operations of our Windows platform and server products, with a main focus on operational activities, proactive capacity management and event monitoring.
He will also contribute to the execution of various projects and will act as a second level support for the Windows systems under his responsibility.
The main and routine tasks of the Windows Systems Administrator are to :
Responsible for the proper daily operations of the Windows systems under his responsibility.
Install, maintain and upgrade Windows servers;
Provide windows expertise to Developers building complex in house application;
Responsible to Windows security Update on 500+ on a monthly basis;
Monitor system events to ensure health, maximum system availability and service quality;
Troubleshoot complex Windows application issue;
Automatization of simple to complex task with powershell script ;
Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network, must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required;
Perform system & application patching and upgrade of equipment firmware;
Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures related to the Microsoft platform;
Participate to the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed;
Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards;
Answer user’s query and service requests;
Carry out all other related tasks.
Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Microsoft systems administration in a 200+ server’s environment.

Oral and Written Comprehension of English and French
Skill in developing techniques and methodologies to resolve unprecedented problems or situations.

Strong knowledge of Windows 2008 and 2012 server;
Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting;
A good knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts such as DNS, routing protocols, TCP and UDP and higher level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP and FTP is important;
Good Knowledge of Microsoft IIS is a considerable asset;
Knowledgue of Chef is a considerable asset;
Knowledge of Network troubleshooting (TCPDump, wireshare, etc.);
Knowledge of Linux is a big plus
Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.) is an asset;
Knowledge of deployment of high-performance and fault-tolerant system is an asset;
knowledge with Web Servers (MS IIS, Nginx, Apache, HAproxy) is an asset;
