The Opportunity

Instructor must be energetic and enjoy working with adults and seniors in a leadership role. Duties include developing and implementing a variety of educational topics.


  • To plan and implement various educational classes for adult participants.
  • Instructor will be expected to develop the program content and lesson plans for the sessions based on topics that pertain to their educational field of expertise.
  • Consult, assist and make recommendations for the program
  • Perform in a direct leadership capacity in delivery of weekly programs
  • Request and maintain the necessary supplies needed for the Life Long Learners program
  • Compile and monitor attendance
  • The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work.

  • Recognized training / experience in continued education for older adults.
  • Experience in teaching educational programs in a group setting
  • General knowledge of current technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with older adults
  • Formal education with Diploma / Certificate or Degree in Education (i.e. History, Folklore, Geography, Philosophy, Social Sciences)
  • Successful applicant will be required to obtain a Certificate of Conduct & Vulnerable Sector Check police check (must be dated within six months of the start date).
  • Hours of Work

    1-3 hours per class (1-3 classes per week)
