As a member of the Commercial Strategy Department, this position focuses on coordinating, planning, executing and evaluating a collection of B2B projects to ensure deliverables meet organizational quality, time and business development goals.

This position requires a broad understanding of the healthcare industry (clinical and research operations), as well its environment, including public, private and charity partners.

As a proficient innovation professional, the successful candidate will report to the Business Innovation Lead and will work on assigned projects, following protocols to ensure project outcomes meet industry as well as end-

user’s needs, demands and expectations.

This position requires thorough understanding of project management, including phases, techniques and tools to navigate multidisciplinary team members through innovation and business development pathways.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop project plans focused on assessing, transforming and positioning (or re-positioning) solutions offered to institutional partners (B2B).
  • Function as project lead on assigned projects. Coordinate people, processes and tools and apply methodologies, practices and approaches throughout the project lifecycle to ensure milestones (quality, budget, and scope) meet pre-
  • established organizational requirements.

  • Conduct product analysis and identify factors that might influence product sustainability such as institutional capacity, financial impact, marketing, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Gather, analyze & propose solutions to mitigate risks related to assigned business development plans.
  • Serves as a point-of-contact for ensuring product risks and factors are timely properly addressed, connecting and engaging relevant UHN units.
  • Manage RFPs and coordinate internal resources and third parties (contractors and / vendors) to ensure flawless execution of projects.
  • Conduct verification and / or validation exercises to properly manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Coordinate the development of manuals, guidance documents and other documents to enable successful implementation and turnover of processes.
  • Works with BD teams to develop plans, engaging required expertise, including marketing support as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination of necessary steps to ensure that B2B transactions are delivered according to established protocols and standards.
  • Support achievement of UHN’s vision, values, goals and culture in personal behavior, actions and decision making
  • Supports business unit’s manager in mitigating operational risks in business operations
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or recognized equivalent required
  • Minimum 4 years practical and / or related experience
  • Experience with project management required
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and political acuity
  • Ability to problem solve and know when to escalate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio
  • Process thinking
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Budget proficiency
  • Project Management / Change Management certification preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification or equivalent preferred
  • International Association of Innovation Professionals (IAOIP) or International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) preferred.
