The Department of Elementary Education at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level.
We seek candidates in the area of Elementary Education . Preference is given to applicants with research and teaching experience in at least one of the following areas : physical education or language and literacy education, with a specialization in reading.
In addition, preference will be given to applicants with qualifications to teach courses in more than one area within the Elementary Education Bachelor of Education program.
Applicants must have a completed or near-completed doctorate with relevant teaching at the school and post-secondary level.
Preference is given to applicants with elementary or middle-years teaching and research experience.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential for scholarly excellence and research innovation. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and must demonstrate the ability and expertise to supervise graduate students.
Applicants should demonstrate strong commitment to service through involvement in community activities related to education, professional development, and / or post-secondary service.
