Job Description :
The Sales Associate supports the Regional Sales Directors to meet their sales targets. A key focus of this role is to engage newly contracted advisors to expand the breadth of our product shelf which includes products with much higher value of new business (VNB).
Through the development of customer relationships the sales associate will be responsible for engagement and to educate all existing and new advisors and marketing assistants by using marketing initiatives, sales campaigns and reinforcing the wholesale value proposition.
What will you do?
Respond to both phone and email inquiries about Sun Life’s individual life and health products and processes from Third Party Advisors and Marketing Assistants
Partner with internal departments to provide process improvements, making Sun Life easy to do business with, part of the Company’s value proposition
Provide individual case support, once an application is received, with the goal of helping Advisors understand Sun Life processes and place new business
Maintain effective two-way communication with advisors, marketing associates and all field personnel to promote and enhance the sales experience
Maintain knowledge of our current and future product shelf as developed
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with advisors within our segmentation strategy which includes Strategic Partner Program
Regular contact with partners to educate them on our policies, procedures, resources, systems and products. This will maximize partners’ production and profitability
Participate in pre-launch sales initiatives to develop and create advisor and marketing assistants’ interest in our sales strategies.
Drive post-launch follow-up to generate sales growth and increase market share
Execute an Onboarding Process for new Strategic Partner Marketing Associates outlining the benefits and how to leverage the program as well
Creation of tasks / events and maintenance of advisor information on Salesforce
What do you need to succeed?
Knowledge of life and health insurance products within the market
Knowledge of Sun life Wholesale products, including Par, Universal Life, Sun Limited Pay, Term, Critical Illness, Personal Health Insurance and Long Term Care
Proven effective problem-solving and complaint resolution skills
Ability to prioritize competing inquiries from phone and email and multi-task a variety of requests at one time
Identify, analyze and resolve various issues as they occur, on a daily basis
Demonstrated proficient inter-personal skills with excellent communication skills; ability to articulate and educate

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
