Responsibilities :

  • Assist with recruitment, selection, training, scheduling and performance management of staff and volunteers in aquatic areas
  • Provide direct leadership in the delivery of programs
  • Developing and delivering team huddles
  • Administrative duties may include monitoring waitlists, statistical reporting and analysis
  • To instruct and ensure the continuity of swim lessons, progress reports, attendance and safety during lesson times
  • To instruct a variety of aquatic programming including Splashers / Bubblers (Parent & Tot) classes, Aqua-fit, Advance Leadership : including National Lifeguard Instructor, Standard First Aid Instructor and Examiner Clinic
  • Working professionally with Members, Volunteers and the Aquatic Team
  • Solving participant / member concerns in a customer focused manner
  • Proactively developing relationships with members, staff and volunteers
  • Adhering to all Aquatic policies and procedures as outlined in manual
  • Commitment to serving all members
  • Assuming other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Hold Current Certifications in National Lifeguard Service, YMCA Swim Instructors, Lifesaving Swim Instructors, Standard First Aid with CPR-
  • C, Lifesaving Society Instructors, National Lifeguard Instructors (assets), Standard First Aid Instructors (asset), Aqua-Fit (asset),

  • 2 years experience Lifeguarding and LSS / LSI
  • Experience teaching Swim to Survive program
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Competencies :

    Varying shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends 20-35 hours
