What You’ll Do :

Wind River Systems is seeking an experienced high-performing Manager of Safety & Certification with experience in Automotive domain.

The successful candidate will develop and implement processes and tooling to drive accelerated product development across multiple verticals including Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and Industrial.

These tools & processes will form a critical offering to speed the development of cloud and embedded connected intelligent systems.

The overall solution will cover avionics systems, autonomous cars, warehouse robots, medical devices, and rail.

In the past you’ve :

  • Managed teams implementing processes and tools for safety-certified systems
  • Succeeded in launching software-centric systems certified to ISO26262 (DO178c experience would be a bonus)
  • Developed, deployed process standards and audited work items according to ISO-26262 processes and at ASIL D
  • Conceived, devised, created, managed or implemented, safety critical software developed according to ISO-26262 to ASIL D
  • Participated in development of software systems following ISO-26262 Parts 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9 e.g. management / concept / system / software development
  • Responsibilities :

  • Play a key leadership role in an emerging team for Wind River future certified products, such as hypervisors, RTOS, and associated development tools
  • Work cross-functionally, and with partners to define the agile processes for future certification.
  • Work cross-functionally, and with partners to define the cloud-scale accredited tools for future certification.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Manager in a safety related software engineering development role
  • 8+ years experience in Automotive safety certification tools and processes
  • Experience with agile scrum, and continuous integration
  • Agile mindset and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Expert in requirements management, certification processes, automated tested
  • Experience with certified embedded systems (hypervisors, RTOS, application development)
  • 6+ years working in the software development arena
  • BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer / Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
  • Deployed tools and process elements into an active global production software organization at scale.
  • Collaborated with other members of the software tools development team and with stakeholders in the wider engineering organization.
  • Experience in connected or avionic systems development is a bonus
  • Exposure to cloud tools, on cloud platforms; like AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker are a bonus
  • Qualification / Skills

  • Tools integration within the context of a rigorous safety related process environment such as ISO26262 or DO-178C.
  • Experience with safety critical software design, ISO-26262 methods for decomposition, ASIL determination, SEooC, re-use, tool qualification, development and allocation of FS requirements in SWC including RTOS
  • Experience with the range of tools used in embedded software development including compilers, linkers, build utilities (g.
  • objdump, readelf), static analysis, MISRA, and unit test tools

  • Understanding of core functionality and application of Wind River software products including RTOS and Hypervisor.
  • Analysis of team metrics & output to drive iterative improvements
  • Proficient coding skills with multiple programming languages, including C, C++, Python,Java, Javascript, and a range of shell scripting including bash.
  • Assets

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools (g. Jenkins, Travis CI, etc.)
  • MongoDB, mongoengine and MongoDB replica set experience is desirable
  • Build and regression test configuration experience with Jenkins pipeline operations
  • Experience with VxWorks
