We’re looking for a Specialist, Underwriting Accounting to join our growing team!

As a Specialist, Underwriting Accounting , your work will have a big impact on our current operations. People will count on you to efficiently assist in the reporting of our insurance results to provide reliable and timely reports to senior management and internal business partners.

You will also be expected to collaborate to the seamless integration of regional financial processes.

This role will offer you the chance to :

  • Understand the interrelationships between different insurance metrics including combined ratio, growth, expenses and capital required.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to enrich the financial data offer and formulate answers for a better understanding of the business
  • Work in a dynamic environment and contribute to many ad hoc projects
  • Build relationships and networks to support your professional growth and success
  • Innovate through your contributions to improve efficiency
  • You’ll also handle many key responsibilities :

  • Assist in the production of accurate financial and operational data by working closely with various departments and regions.
  • Assist in the validation of operational and financial data, as well as various reports.
  • Investigate complex issues and answer questions from internal stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of the changing needs of the company and our internal business partners to proactively support in process and report improvements.
  • Assist in identifying overall trends in results.
  • Work closely with the performance reporting team to provide them with the information required for their analyses.
  • Participate in system and financial reporting improvement initiatives.
  • Help facilitate the audit process of insurance results and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Contribute to maintaining a robust internal control environment. Maintain 52 109 documentation and ensure the accuracy of audit evidence for test purposes.

    Your Skills

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and finance.
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English), oral and written
  • Ability to interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and Essbase is an asset
