Purpose and Key Job Activities
The Manager Security, Compliance & DOT Canada is responsible for developing, rolling out and maintaining corporate DOT and Security policies, procedures and working practices for Stericycle.
All programs will be consistent with Canadian, North American and International standards but aligned with relevant regulations, and all other Local, State and Federal laws.
Respond to and manage security incidents involving Stericycle Team Members as needed and on short notice, including organize emergency response and providing updates to senior and executive management.
Audit Stericycle facilities for security and EHS related corporate audit procedures; including but not limited to SIT (document destruction locations), HSC (Healthcare locations), Incinerator, all corporate offices and others designated by Stericycle Management.
Conduct investigations of all security incidents, including the determination of root cause and implementation of corrective action plans.
Review all other incidents to identify underlying trends and develop action plans.
Manage camera telematic program to business units. Provide training, coaching techniques, review crash data, attend meetings and webinars as needed.
Provide data and analytics.
Review FADV services for compliance. This includes DQ file compliance, HOS compliance and Random DOT Drug and Alcohol programs.
Compile and manage the Canadian roadside inspections for all DOT numbers and providences in Canada. Update and distribute CSA scorecards as required.
Manage and update electronic telematic devices in trucks including processes for ELD’s, HOS, fuel and mileage for Canada.
Act as a subject matter expert for DOT and Security issues for Canada. Support field based EHS teams, operations and commercial functions.
Assist with any regulatory or government activities.
Assist as needed with all other EHS global initiatives, audits, training, truck permitting and other work assigned.
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s level degree or similar education and experience or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Canadian DOT regulations and or Security Management within a regulated environment, document destruction or ISO security regulations.
Bilingual in French Canadian and English
Licenses and Required Competencies
Required : Certifications related to security or document destruction, Passport
Preferred : Certified Secure Destruction Specialists (CSDS), or other related DOT designations
Must be able to obtain the Protected B clearance level for the Canadian government regarding the security requirements for Government of Canada contracts.
Demonstrates the ability to write comprehensive policy documentation to be utilized across a wide region. Ability to work with translation solutions to ensure that the documentation intentions remain intact.
