Position Scope The Private Capital Solutions (PCS) Reconciliation Analyst is part of the Operations group and will be responsible for supporting the Reconciliation project team.
The candidate will be expected to get a deep understanding of the various systems, functions and processes in order to forensically analyze data and trace discrepancies.
Financial transactions may include account cheque deposits, reversals, transfers, dividend payments, wires, fees, write-
offs, taxes etc...The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills is independent, resourceful, detailed-oriented, flexible and deadline-
focused. The Analyst has an excellent understanding of financial account reconciliation and general ledger systems. Solid understanding of Registered and non-
registered Plan cash related processes is a definite asset. Major Responsibilities : Account Research & Reconciliation
Gain a high understanding of the team's processes and vendor systems used to process financial transactions.
Investigate and research the reason(s) for financial credit / debit discrepancies from the various system data sources
Locate and provide supporting documentation / evidence for unreconciled items
Together with the project team, work towards prompt resolution of discrepancies in accordance to target timelines.
Summarize and report any trends and / or root causes for discrepancies to management
Provide feedback and / or solutions to address issues
Develop and implement strategies that optimize quality of reconciliation resolution
Maintain detailed, organized records and documentation in shared drivesCommunication & Collaboration
Work closely and effectively with the Reconciliation department, Treasury, PCS funding desk and PCS operations to resolve / reconcile discrepancies
Ensure professionalism and quality in written and verbal communications Skill Set
Previous Financial account reconciliation experience is a must
Previous work experience in finance or accounting responsibilities is an asset
Ability to quickly learn and navigate through the various systems independently and effectively
Must have an eye for detail and strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Must be able to multitask, work independently with little supervision
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Resourceful, personable, technical, flexible, independent Education / Training
Post-Secondary Education in Business or Finance
Strong working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook)
