Summary of Role
The Senior Manager, Investor Relations will contribute to the strategic planning of the investor relations program and manage all investor relations activities and materials released to shareholders.
The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in executing the investor relations strategy while acting as the secondary contact for investors.
This role will also work closely with the senior executive team on department deliverables.
Strategic planning and development of a wide range of investor materials, including but not limited to news releases, investor presentations, scripts and slides, fact sheets, the annual report, and board material.
In collaboration with the VP, IR & CC, plan and manage the execution of the quarterly earnings process, and virtual and in-person conferences, marketing trips, investor meetings, special announcements, and the annual general meeting, which includes logistics, meeting schedules, material preparation, printing and distribution, and investor follow up.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all communication materials are accurate and consistent with Teranga’s corporate strategy, messaging, and internal and external disclosure requirements.
Monitor market information to understand the impact to the investor relations strategy, make recommendations, and help determine priorities.
Oversee all information updates to the Company website to ensure content is current and compliant, including the investor section of the website.
Filter incoming investor and media calls / emails and direct to relevant authorized spokesperson or independently deal with calls / emails that do not require an authorized spokesperson.
Attend meetings with investors, analysts, and media as required.
Assist in maintaining a database of investor contact information, record of meeting information and notes, as well as all analyst reports with distribution to the management team.
Assist in reviewing materials prepared by other members in IR / Corporate Communications group, as required, and contribute toward the development and implementation of an integrated investor relations and corporate communications strategy.
Research and assess best practices related to investor relations / communications / public relations on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to enhance department material and support an effective flow of information to investors.
Collaborate with the Sustainability department to integrate the Company’s ESG performance data into a wide range of investor materials as required.
Relationship build with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the development and execution of social media initiatives based on industry best practices including online media monitoring.
Oversee the Investor Relations & Communications Analyst carry out various department administrative tasks, such as budgeting, credit card invoices, vendor relationship management, calendar management, year-end investor mailing, and internal department related inquiries, as well as other projects.
Required Skills and Experience
University degree, or equivalent, in business, public relations or another related business discipline. Additional certification in public relations, communications, investing, finance or other relevant area would be an asset.
Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in investor relations experience in mining industry an asset.
Proven capacity to understand, analyze, and effectively communicate financial information.
Strong quantitative and data analytics skills.
Exceptional computer skills with particular proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Knowledge of investor management software an asset (e.g. IHS Markit (Ipreo), Nasdaq IR Insight) and market surveillance software (e.
g. S&P Capital IQ, TSX InfoSuite)
Ability to effectively collaborate with others across the organization and build strong relationships.
Ability to plan, organize work, and make decisions to achieve specific goals and company objectives.
Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.
Regular office working conditions and hours; additional hours are required as the job requirements dictate (i.e. during the reporting period at quarter-end and year-end, as well as other major corporate events).
Some travel in Canada and US is required (up to 2 days per quarter).
