The Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University is seeking a full-time clinician with a strong interest in research to join the department.
this includes a track-record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. In keeping with a growing societal need for mental health and addiction treatment, we are seeking a candidate with significant experience in mental health care.
This individual will have a thorough understanding of the social determinants of health in both the urban as well as rural context.
This position entails some clinical work, research, as well as administrative and teaching commitments. While this role will be located at our offices in Hamilton, Ontario, candidates must be willing to work both at our central site, and have the ability and desire to travel to our distant sites as needed, to fulfill the requirements of the role.
Experience and understanding of marginalised populations, and the impact that these life experiences have on the burden of mental health and addiction is an asset.
Experience and skill in working in interprofessional team environment is essential to this position.The successful candidate will also be an experienced researcher who will be able to align their scholarly work with the department research initiatives.
This includes contributing to our on-going research projects such as TAPER, Tapestry in primary care, and polypharmacy risk reduction.
A proven track record of scholarly activities including successful grants and publications in significant peer-reviewed journals is expected.
Experience with collaboration at the local and international levels is an asset. The successful applicant must have a medical degree and be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the province of Ontario.
