Marine Adjuster / Surveyor PRIMARY PURPOSE : To investigate and process marine claims adjustments for clients; to handle complex losses locally unassisted up to $30,000 and assist the department on larger losses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigates the cause and extent of the damages, obtain appropriate documentation to facilitate and issues settlement.
Receive and review new claims and maintain data integrity in the claim system.
Reviews insurance policies and survey reports to determine insurance coverage.
Prepare settlement documents and requests payment for the claim and expenses.
Prepare bordereaux and receive and disburse funds.
Maintain and submit bordereaux and outstanding's as per Insurers guidelines and semi and monthly basis. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports the organization's quality program(s).
Travels if and as required. QUALIFICATIONS Education & LicensingBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience5-7 years as a Marine Adjuster. Skills & Knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Good customer service skills
Good organizational skills
Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
