DESCRIPTION OF POSITION :
Conducts accurate and timely testing of raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products using in-house and / or AOAC approved methods.
completing all tests, properly interpreting results and releasing items in a timely manner.
Identify area of concern (low salt, high salt, poor colour, high micro, improper mixing, etc.), issue QN’s and RCCA’s as required
Provide troubleshooting support to the production departments by investigating issues that adversely affect food safety / quality or manufacturing efficiency and recommending potential solutions.
Communicates effectively with internal customers, other McCormick divisions, vendors and external customers when required
Retrieve samples from warehouse as required and conduct inspections for defective product.
Conduct monthly GMP audits, allergen swabbing as required.
General housekeeping of lab.
Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
Follows all GLP and GMP requirements.
Performs daily line audits as required.
Participates in JTE as required.
Education : University degree in relevant field required.
2 to 5 years in food industry.
Familiar with Quality Control systems, GLP, HACCP and GMP’s
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office and SAP.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle heavy workloads with minimal supervision.
Ability to work overtime and on-call support as required and the ability to be flexible with shift and workday assignments to support business need requirements.
