With SLR's continued growth, we have an Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Lead opportunity for a highly motivated senior professional with excellent business development, management, technical, client service and people skills to lead the growth of our Land Quality group in Ottawa.

A consulting background in contaminated site assessment, remediation, hydrogeology, hydrology, risk assessment or liability management is preferred as these represent focused areas for future SLR growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with SLR's leadership to grow and diversify the Ottawa office. Marketing and sales of established and developing technical services to existing and prospective clients
  • Oversee financial performance, recruitment and retention, coaching, health and safety leadership and project management
  • Prepare and review proposal, technical correspondence, reports, work plans and project specifications
  • Possess a strong understanding of Federal and Provincial Environmental Regulations and processes
  • Motivate staff, collaboration with colleagues in Ottawa and across the firm including senior technical discipline and business sector leaders, and operations managers in a one-team approach
  • Education and Experience :

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in environmental consulting with a strong technical background
  • Business acumen, development and planning and client / account management experience
  • Staff management, time management, project planning and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to quality, detail and accuracy
  • Degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology or related studies
  • Professional status with a professional organization (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., C.E.T., EP in Ontario additional credentials from other provinces is an asset)
  • Valid driver's license
