Within the Customer Technology Excellence (CTE) business unit, the Strategy, Enablement & Investment Management team leads the strategic planning, program alignment, and investment governance across the organization.

The Consumer Capital Management team leads the strategic planning and governance for the capital investments TELUS makes into Wireless, TV, Internet and Security.

These investments enable new go-to-market or internal capabilities that are intended to deliver on our strategy, maximize shareholder returns, and enhance the customer experience

As a strategy manager for the Consumer Capital team, you will help develop insights to support decision making, governance, conduct financial assessments to measure and track the financial performance of capital investment opportunities required to support new service and product development for the Consumer Wireless and Wireline businesses.

Here's how

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Capital Management Team to review business cases and executive presentations across Consumer Capital portfolios to ensure our capital spend is in line with strategic priorities and yields maximum benefits
  • Own the management and outcomes of the weekly executive governance forums for each of the Consumer Capital portfolios ( Mobility, Home Solutions, and Cross-Functional)
  • Collaborate with business unit executive primes to optimize their capital budgets, drive improvements to capital management, track program progress, and review investment benefits against KPIs
  • Ensure all initiatives within the Consumer Capital portfolio maintain a high-standard of compliance on TELUS’ project governance requirements
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and prepare executive level reporting across the Consumer Capital Management to deliver updates to the team

    You have strong business acumen - you are able to analyze business cases, understand the business implications of decisions, and provide guidance to stakeholders.

    Other qualifications

  • Enthusiastic individual with a university degree and / or 3-5 years equivalent experience
  • Proficient in building and analyzing business cases with demonstrated financial acumen to assess benefits, costs, and risks
  • Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables to oversee the portfolio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Track record of building and developing cross-functional relationships
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and are able to present complex information in an easily understood manner, tailoring the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understanding
  • Self-motivated having high standards of performance with the ability to deal with complex concepts and ambiguity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-suite apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Great to have qualifications
  • Graduate degree especially MBA or CPA
  • Project Management experience
  • Telecommunications / wireline industry experience
