REQUIREMENTS :
Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma Detail oriented with excellent proofreading and document production skills Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure Decisiveness and ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction / supervision Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Flexible to meet daily needs of the practice Able to work independently as well as actively participate as part of a team
Minimum of 2 years experience. Employment experience is an asset, but not required.
DUTIES :
Manage incoming mail and emails, legal documents, and file summaries Calendar management and scheduling Administrative support, including electronic and physical filing, opening and closing files and docketing Prepare and draft correspondence and court documents including pleadings and motion materials Liaison with Courts, Boards, Panels, and Arbitrators Prepare monthly pre-bills Prepare bills of costs, affidavits of documents, and mediation and pre-trial briefs Compile, serve and file Ontario Labour Relations Board and Ontario Human Rights Tribunal Interested candidates are invited to apply!
