Role

The proposal specialist role is part of the proposal team at Norton Rose Fulbright in Canada, with responsibility to support the proposal managers and help drive the continuous growth of the business.

The proposal specialist will be responsible for leading the development of credentials Canada wide and for supporting the proposals managers with developing national, regional and global proposals.

The position requires an independent thinker with mature professional judgment and excellent writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop credentials - obtain scope from lawyers, draft, edit and proof in accordance with proposal process and best practices.

Understand and synthesize various concepts, and oral and written information to produce clear and well-developed written documents

Support proposal managers by sourcing and developing high-quality materials for use in proposals.

Pull matter lists and descriptions from internal systems to support proposal team as needed.

Assist regularly in writing, editing and proofreading proposals.

Ensure finalized proposal content is distributed to appropriate mediums (e.g., matter database, standard material, website, etc.

and stakeholders in a timely manner.

Monitor the proposal tracking database and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Ensure content is tightly governed while ensuring the content capturing process is continually optimized.

Analyze feedback collected through internal and external bid debriefs and provide recommendations to the proposal managers to improve the quality of future proposals.

Develop, manage and refine a quality control program for use of standard templates and forms, preserving firm content and brand guidelines.

Develop monthly and weekly reports.

Assist in the definition, identification, management and implementation of tools and processes to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Assist in collaborating with global Norton Rose Fulbright offices, as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in related role.

Experience working in the proposals function, or similar experience, preferably for a professional services firm.

Exceptional writing skills, as well as superior proofreading skills.

Knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office.

Bilingual in French and English.

Understanding of the sales process in the context of a professional services environment.

Able to build a strong reputation within the business and deliver excellent service.

Demonstrable analytic skills and ability to quickly and pro-actively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results.

Professional presentation and communication skills.

Strong research and writing skills, as well as proofreading skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask with demonstrated capabilities to manage multiple deadlines and changing project criteria.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.

Positive attitude and enthusiasm.

Strong interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
