The Senior Manager of Cyber Security Operations and Incident Management is responsible for overseeing the IT security infrastructure, managing incident response, and conducting security investigations across MDA (Canada, US and UK) and will report to the MDA IT Director.

The selected candidate will manage a technical team of direct, indirect, and outsourced resources across multiple sites and time zones within our cyber function.

He / she should be comfortable with leading the overall delivery of security operations and incident management in a highly dynamic environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide 24 / 7 support for security monitoring of all IT operations and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with internal teams to interpret, understand, and communicate real business risks related to technological risks
  • In conjunction with the MDA IT Director, guide, implement, and optimize the Cyber Security posture and practice for MDA globally
  • Interact with law enforcement agencies, Governmental departments, Corporate security, and industry peers
  • Responsible for IT Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance and internal / external audit response and adherence
  • Lead IT DR and BCP posture and planning
  • Perform security assessments
  • Implement new technologies by participating in the assessment of tools, software, and technological practices. Assist in implementing controls to mitigate operational risks
  • Manage the response to cyber security incidents, and ensure that a well-defined, documented, and tested action plan is in place in the event of a security incident
  • Maintain and update all security tools, technologies, and processes
  • Provide fast and efficient communications to key internal stakeholders
  • Basic Qualifications / Required Skills :

  • 10+ years of work experience delivering cyber security (operations, security engineering, application security, IAM, MFA, ITSM, DLP, IPS, technical writing, information risks, and international work environments)
  • 5+ years of work experience managing cyber security operations and / or security engineering
  • General knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
  • Knowledge of standards, regulations, and laws governing information security (NIST, COBIT5, ISO 27001, 23 NYCRR 500, 201 CMR 17)
  • Experience managing direct, indirect, and outsourced resources
  • Experience managing operations playbooks, run books, and performance measures
  • Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively present analytical data to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of data analysis methods
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into terms and products useful to upper-level management
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Desired Skills :

  • Significant experience managing cyber security programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing leading cyber security solutions, platforms, and technologies
  • Strong analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to lead and work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience leading and / or managing global or multi-tiered organizations
  • Effective project management skills
  • Ability to foster innovation and leaders at all levels
  • Education :

  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or SANS GIAC (PMP considered a plus)
  • Bachelor of Technology Science, Information Security (an asset)
  • The candidate must be able to qualify for a secret clearance
