MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will be involved with the following :
Plan, organize, and oversee production activities to ensure that production key performance indicators and product quality performance targets are met;
Manage the sanitation program in Processing and Packaging to ensure key performance indicators and compliance targets are met;
Manage key performance indicators and metrics across the facility with regard to health and safety, food safety, continuous improvement, and cost factors;
Participate in budget activities as they relate to production and sanitation including reviewing costs and variance to plan;
Coach, mentor, and develop front line supervisory groups;
Communicate results, expectations, and follow up to ensure compliance with established work methods;
Be accountable for compliance in the areas of health and safety and food safety;
Act as key liaison between facility departments;
Identify and participate in operational change management initiatives;
Perform any other duties as required and as business needs dictate.
Post-secondary education in Food Science or Technology or related discipline;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Solid computer experience including spreadsheet capabilities;
Knowledge of packaging processes and equipment;
Mechanical aptitude and experience;
Current knowledge of GMPs, HACCP regulations, and Quality Systems and procedures;
Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience;
Strong computer skills (Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite);
Critical thinking skills;
Ability to work shift work and some weekends.
