Position Summary

Carlyle is seeking an Associate level professional to join Metropolitan Real Estate’s Fund Management team. The Fund Management team is responsible for the business operations and ongoing management of the funds as well as developing quantitative tools to support investment decisions, valuations, asset management, investor relations, and reporting.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who would thrive in a dynamic environment working to support the existing investments and continue to build the business.

Qualified candidates must be able to work in a team-oriented, dynamic and fast paced environment. Candidates need to possess strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.

In addition, candidates need to be highly focused on accuracy and efficiency. The Associate would work closely with the Investments, Investor Relations Management, and Accounting teams and report to the Head of Fund Management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Annual Asset Review which includes collecting and analyzing projected underlying fund level cash flows and detailed asset-level information
  • Maintain database of all underlying fund asset level information; prepare insightful analyses and respond to any requests related to this datase
  • Valuations

  • Create and maintain valuation models for co-investments and underlying assets in MRE’s fund investments, adhering to Carlyle’s established real estate valuation methodology and supporting MRE’s valuation policy
  • Conduct market research to support assumptions used in valuation models
  • Coordinate the process and schedule of completing the valuations as well as responding to auditor’s questions alongside the Investment and Accounting teams
  • Prepare summaries of valuation results for discussion in the Valuation Committee
  • Liaise with other Carlyle valuations and accounting professionals as well as MRE's auditors and valuation service providers to ensure our approach meets industry best practices on an ongoing basis
