Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Total Compensation, the Senior Consultant will assists with the management of the CGI Benefits and Retirement Savings Plans for our Canadian employees (approximately 12,000 employees).

Work Location : Toronto or Montreal

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Manage member’s Benefits programs.
  • Conduct evaluations and comparisons of existing company Benefits programs with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
  • Analyze results of surveys and assists in developing specific recommendations.
  • Lead the review and redesign of our benefits and retirement savings programs.
  • Lead the annual group insurance renewal process.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment activities including distribution of materials from carriers, and communicate changes to members.
  • Working with third parties involved for the governance of our group RRSP committee, develop and / or review the material for the committee meetings, and assist with developing policy changes and guidelines to strengthen our governance.
  • Oversee several aspects of the implementation of new plans and preparation of announcement materials including revision and reissue of communication materials on Benefits from time to time.
  • Proactively develop effective and consistent reports on Benefits related data with proactive metrics that drive forecasting capabilities and strategic insights.
  • Perform analysis of relevant HR metrics, uncover trends in the data and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide counseling to HR Directors / Business Partners on plan provisions, resolve escalated issues.
  • Assist with providing strategic direction and planning for all aspects of the CGI’s employee benefits and retirement savings programs.
  • Develop and deliver highly effective benefit program communication, including benefits open enrollment, program launches, new hire orientation and intranet content and distribution of required.
  • Monitor disability and enhance the management disability dashboard.
  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships.
  • Assist in the financial management of our benefits plans by preparing annual benefits budget and regular cost reports for management.

  • A Bachelor degree in human resources, business management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated computer efficiency (Excel, Microsoft Office, etc).

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in the Benefits’ field.
  • Expertise in both health and welfare plan design and administration.
  • Understanding of all benefit program regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Total Rewards.
