Would you like to work on some of the biggest franchises in gaming? Certain Affinity, the largest independent video game developer in Austin, Texas, has opened a location in Toronto, Canada and we’re looking for exceptionally talented people to join us.

Our Toronto studio will collaborate with our Austin location, and together we’ll be co-developing AAA FPS games and creating our own compelling new IP.

Certain Affinity is seeking a Lead Game Designer with extensive experience in the PC, console, and mobile game spaces. As the Lead Game Designer, you are responsible for directing, managing, and providing detailed feedback on game design features and content.

Working with a team of designers, you are responsible for ensuring consistency, quality, and direction for the project. You must also be willing to get your hands dirty at times directly stepping in to design systems / features including implementing content when the need arises.

ResponsibilitiesWork with Game Director and other leads to establish the vision for new games and to extend existing gamesDrive implementation of all design-focused tools, game interface, and gameplay and monetization featuresLead, mentor, and motivate internal and external designersHelp vet potential development partners and oversee the design work of external partners and contractorsContribute hands-on to development in a wide range of areas (e.

  • g., gameplay systems design, UI design)Lead the post-release support for Games as a Service titles, including on-going content developmentRequirements6+ years of game design experience, 2 or more on First- or Third-Person Shooter games;
