We have a need for a Maintenance Supervisor in our Delta, BC location. This person will work with the Maintenance Manager to plan, organize and control the maintenance department to maintain our assets in a consistent manner in order to enhance efficiency, lower costs and maximize asset utilization
What You'll do :
Organize and manage the key maintenance department activities across all shifts.
Co-ordinate with all staff to identify and issue appropriate job assignments
Assist Maintenance Purchaser / Planner with daily planning
Manage preventive maintenance schedules and issue job assignments
Ensure the next job is always ready for each technician
Verify completed PM's by one or two technicians randomly each week
Provide feedback and support to department staff, including weekly meetings focused on safety and performance..
Ensure that proper Spare Parts Inventory levels are maintained at all times
Drive and support Maintenance Purchaser to continue with parts room accuracy
Provide emergency response to maintenance items as required.
Develop strong working relationships with all staff and with all departments within the facility.
Ensure that all safety standards and production GMP standards are communicated, posted and adhered t
Ensure timely repair of all equipment
Ensure proper, safe, and efficient execution of maintenance work
Evaluate quality, duration, and cost of equipment repair
Make tactical decisions necessary to remain as close to daily schedule as possible
Balance motivation and discipline by interfacing with each technician at least twice daily and visiting significant jobs three times daily
Give adequate time and attention to formal and on-the-job training.
Control of tardiness, absenteeism, and vacations
Accompany Maintenance Manager during daily walk on the floor three times a day to ensure our customers (Team leads, SOM, Setup, Sanitation) are doing ok and there is no downtime.
Check 10in6 on his / her office computer three or four times a day and go to see what the problem is if attainment is red.
Collaborate with Setup / Production and Warehouse departments on a day by day basis
What You Bring :
Provincially recognized trade licenses and certifications in electrical trades
5 years minimum in a previous maintenance supervisor position in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry
Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred
Experience with Ammonia / Freezing systems is an asset.
