Job Description :
Reporting to the Controller, this full-time position will be viewed as a leader in the Finance team, focusing on the preparation of the financial reporting package, hospital trend analysis, preparation, and maintenance of complex accounting models, and assisting with annual budgets.
This role involves working closely with other department leaders, the business development team, and the US parent company finance team.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Controller will include :
Prepare and review full period-end close and financial analysis reporting for management reporting
Prepare and review period-end account reconciliations & GL variance analysis
Maintain and enhance operational trend analysis & KPI metrics
Management of organizational accounting policies, procedures, and strategies
Oversee and maintain the internal control framework
Identify and implement process enhancements for finance and operational reporting processes
Maintain and review payroll uploads from Workday to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
Assist the Controller in overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Assisting with budgets and forecasting
Assist with the valuation and integration of newly acquired companies
Provide continuous coaching and mentoring for the finance team
Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects as required
Accounting designation (CPA) and 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and exposure to US GAAP
Experience and proficiency with using the Microsoft Office Suite, and Power BI
Demonstrated experience with building complex models
Able to tell a story with numbers / models for an audience with limited finance experience help them understand
Previous experience with ORACLE would be an asset
Analytical at a detail and aggregate level
Ability to create, grow and maintain relationships with internal departments and operational leaders
Prior responsibility for full-cycle accounting, including reporting, trend analysis, and budgeting
Willingness to be hands-on in all aspects of accounting
Highly organized with excellent time-management and prioritization skills, able to handle peak workloads effectively
