KingSett Capital, a leading Canadian commercial real estate investor providing construction and term financing solutions from $2 million - $150 million, is seeking an experienced Associate to join their growing Mortgage Investments team in Montreal.

Reporting to the Executive Director Mortgage Investments, this individual will facilitate superior returns by recommending individual investments as well as the appropriate asset mix.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned individual with commercial mortgage lending to take a leadership role in a complex and well-funded investor.

Construction financing experience preferred.

Responsibilities Actively manage a portfolio of construction and commercial transactions from funding through maturity.

Review broker / borrower information packages, evaluate and analyze information and prepare underwriting models to support potential mortgage investments including but not limited to senior, junior, construction and income producing property financing.

Conduct investment analysis including : verify accuracy of broker / borrower information, assess capacity of borrower, create / populate financial models to support investment decisions, analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements and assess suitability of all of the forgoing in context of corporate risk tolerance.

Work closely with the originators to improve the structure for the deals which merit consideration but need improvement in the deal structure and recommend these for approval.

Actively manage and review renewals / amendments of the construction and commercial portfolio.

Advise the firm on the financial impact of proposed transactions. Actively negotiate pricing on the deals submitted by the originators.

Monitor the portfolio of construction loans, inventory loans and commercial loans to ensure that the loans are performing as stipulated by the approved terms.

Qualifications Undergraduate Degree and relevant experience in the commercial mortgage industry preferably within a regulated financial institution.

Solid Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Ability to understand complex business structures and transactions
