This position supports product support sales activities through specialized technical or scientific knowledge / product applications.
Incumbent is an internally recognized expert in the product line. Involves all aspects of SMS Equipment’s customer product offering.
Establishes and maintains strong, professional relationships with Mining customers and manufacturers, solving technical problems and generating customer solutions as a value added supplier.
1. Represents the Company as being a hands-on person as it relates to products handled by the Company.
Provides detailed equipment proposals to meet customer’s specific requirements.
Evaluate used equipment to help provide a market based value.
Prepare monthly equipment sales forecast.
As technical resource to sales professionals, contributes to sales division by providing deeper understanding of product workings or applications, as well as of product limitations and non-traditional product usage.
Assists other organization functions (engineering, manufacturing, quality control) to identify user and / or design problems.
Provides customers with manuals for parts, equipment, and delivery.
Reports regularly and make recommendations as to how to improve product in order to see continued product improvements
2. Establishes and maintains strong, professional relationships with Mining customers and manufacturers.
Main point of contact for Mining customers and manufacturers.
Assists in getting new customers set up with KomTrax and VHMS.
Sells parts to equipment owners, contractors and fleet operators.
Provides service and solutions regarding OE parts issues.
Solves technical problems and generates customer solutions as a value added supplier.
3. Liaises with Shop operations and office personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operation of area of responsibility.
Coordinates all service, warranty, billing, and equipment issues to the appropriate SMS manager. Main point of contact in resolving such issues.
The ideal candidate will have related education with 3 to 5 years experience in heavy equipment business and will be familiar with Mining equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and have a general working knowledge of computer systems.
Must be self-motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting edge technology and best practice pertaining to the Company’s products and services;
enhancing expertise, performance and bottom line productivity.
Strong communication skills in dealing with customers and O.E.M.s.
Position is on call 24 / 7 for Mining customer service in designated area
Requires the ability to drive company vehicles for extended periods of time.
