The Technical Writer contributes to the success of our business by applying their skills and experience to the design and development of fit-
for-purpose product documentation. By considering usability, maintainability, readability, and accessibility, the Technical Writer continuously seeks to expand both product and technical domain while actively seeking to support effective, high quality delivery of documentation within a cross-
functional Agile and Lean delivery team.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Developing and maintaining content for print, download, and on-product help, including but not limited to : product fundamentals, installation, configuration, and administration guides, in support of multiple, concurrent product releases
Participating in and contributing to the Agile software development process actively engaging in feature planning sessions, task breakdowns, and documentation impact analysis
Adhering to documentation standards and best practices and pro-actively contributing to their continuous improvement with a goal to maintain superior quality, consistency, and effective content management
Continuously striving to understand how the product works, the related personas and their workflows, and eager to develop a specific area of expertise which fosters a cooperative and collaborative work environment
Performing peer reviews and edits, providing constructive feedback to help ensure high caliber and consistent documentation across the suite
Emphasizing knowledge sharing and supporting peers and colleagues
Seeking continuous improvement of team, product, and processes using an Agile and Lean mindset

College Diploma or University Degree with a specialization in Technical Communication (or another technical discipline with relevant experience).
Two to five years of relevant professional experience working or school based / personal projects.
An understanding of structured writing to facilitate reuse and single sourcing.
Able to analyze simple content design issues and determine the best resolutions.
Recognizes the importance of effective planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Nice to Haves :
Aviation Maintenance domain knowledge is an asset.
Experience with web content design.
Knowledge and understanding of user experience design.
