Your mandate is to build competitive advantage for TELUS by championing data analytics with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners in order to support our objectives of driving customer acquisition and retention, growth in profitability and ultimately improved customer experience.

As a Product Specialist on the Device Lifecycle & Pricing team, you will spearhead all reporting activities (internal & external) to establish how we are trending.

A successful candidate will be able to work with our OEM partners, to develop mutually beneficial business growth opportunities based on reporting analytics and secure alignment between our partners and TELUS’ priorities.

What you will do in this role :

  • Program Tracking : Track & maintain historical repository of all OEM programs, performance and reconciliation
  • Program Reconciliation : Collaborate with finance / business intelligent teams to obtain actual loading, generate invoices, distribute to OEM
  • Own, drive, and deliver against annual financial targets including vendor funding, invoicing, financial tracking and analysis of vendor support and performance
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams across all business units to manage funding prioritization and optimization according to TELUS business priorities
  • Program manage deliverables & commitments and manage the day-to-day OEM sales funding results
  • Maintain and track ongoing communications & performance against marketing and sales programs with vendor partners and key stakeholders across the organization & triage where necessary
  • Lead special projects that benefit vendor relations and / or contribute to profitability objectives
  • Provide guidance and support to supply operations, device forecasting teams, and device acquisition teams with regards to handset purchases and inventory management
  • Manage and execute formal product lifecycle communications with vendor partners and internal stakeholders
  • Critically analyze financial data, demand trends, and industry dynamics to identify and action new initiatives and opportunities with TELUS’ vendor partners
  • What you bring to the role :

  • Demonstrated understanding of the telecommunications industry and knowledge about future trends, risks, and business opportunities
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of key financial performance measures
  • Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office suite of products (particularly PowerPoint and Excel) and experience of building key reporting dashboards
  • Experience using Domo is an asset
  • Solid relationship building and influencing skills with a proven ability to work within a team environment
  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities, with a focus on quality and detail
  • Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on practical and creative solutions to make business decisions that will drive negotiations strategy
  • Self-starter with proven ability to take complete ownership of a project, by asking the right questions and knowing the results from launch to completion, demonstrating flexible thinking
  • Comfortable with interactions with all levels of people across TELUS and external organizations
  • Accustomed to an extremely fast-paced environment, requiring juggling of immediate tactical responses with long term strategic planning
  • Passionate and committed, and can raise the stakes in their role
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Degree in Business / Marketing or equivalent experience
