Collins Barrow Edmonton is looking for a dynamic Manager to work in our Audit and Assurance teams. These teams work with companies in various industries by developing strong working relationships with clients built on understanding their business’ opportunities and challenges.

Your primary responsibilities will include :
Taking primary responsibility and ownership of files, by independently managing work flow and presenting complete work product to Partner on a timely basis
Understanding the client’s industry and recognizing key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments
Monitoring the progress of engagement teams against the original audit plan and providing recommendations on changes when needed
Identifying and resolving complex and routine accounting, audit and tax issues
Developing team members by instilling strong audit, accounting and tax skills and encouraging them to be accountable for their contributions to the team
Conducting timely performance reviews and providing ongoing performance feedback / training
A successful candidate will have :
A CA / CPA designation (or an equivalent international designation)
4 7 years of progressive post-qualification experience
Experience working with both public and private entities
Strong technical skills and practical knowledge of auditing requirements including internal controls testing
Experience managing large and complex public and private company audits at a national or mid-sized firm
Proven experience advising clients on technical accounting as well as general business issues
Experience with managing and developing staff on multiple sizes and types of engagements
Strong knowledge of the CICA / CPA Assurance Handbook
Familiarity with CaseWare preferred
Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Ability to provide well considered and proactive solutions to clients, A&A partners and staff on complex auditing issues
Proven project management and time management skills to organize, implement and execute projects
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing client deadlines
A positive attitude and desire to excel and grow professionally
Ability to travel as required
