Our client, a one of the world’s largest uranium producers, is looking for a Civil Field Superintendent for their site in Port Hope, ON.
Key Responsibilities :
In conjunction with other members of the construction management team (CMT), the civil field superintendent shall ensure contractors are working in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements
Oversight of contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and all site-specific requirements for execution of construction work at Port Hope.
Duties of the civil field superintendent include : checking / verifying civil work per the engineering drawings, monitoring of the contractor’s schedule and productivity rates and general oversight of contractor to confirm compliance with good industry practice.
Responsible to coordinate field activities between the contractor and the operations team as required
Oversight of contractors to ensure they are following a sound workface planning process and are executing well-planned and organized work
Work with the rest of the CMT to hold contractors accountable to budget and schedule expectations including review and approval of contractor daily labour, equipment and material reports;
attend daily progress meetings and provide reports to the construction manager as required
Conduct inspections and sign-off on work completed by contractors as having met quality and scope requirements
Coordinate construction activities between contractors and Port Hope operations personnel as required
10+ years of experience working specifically as a civil field superintendent is required; experience with remediation and demolition is highly preferred
Experience with civil grading, concrete, asphalt, stormwater systems and working adjacent to harbour walls is highly preferred
Previous experience in brown field construction execution required
Moderate computer skills required, specifically MS Office
