Position Overview : The primary focus of the Payroll Specialist is to administer accurate, efficient and timely payroll execution for employees across Canada Goose within our corporate, retail and manufacturing teams.
Appealing to a high energy, bright, focused individual, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for executing payroll for high volume teams across multiple locations in countries around the world.
Key Responsibilities : Accurately enter, process and balance the bi-weekly payroll earnings and adjustments. Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department, leaves, new hire set up and terminations.
Conduct regular analysis of payroll data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Partner and lead process improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency is an ongoing focus for the payroll function.
Process and balance payroll expenses, deductions and adjustments. Provide a timely response from inquiries from Finance, HR, managers and employees.
Responsible for the distribution of all pay statements, ROEs and forms as required. Create and maintain accurate payroll records and mail correspondences for immediate access.
Reconciliation of payroll entries to the sub ledgers. Provide guidance to the Payroll Coordinator. Provide back up to the Payroll Manager.
Provide support for project work and other duties as required. Experience, Education and Designations : 5+ years of hands on experience in full cycle payroll processing in organizations with over 5000 employees.
Post-secondary Education with a focus on Administration and or Accounting preferred. Canadian Payroll Association - PCP is required.
General knowledge of Canadian and US employment law and payroll legislation, including multi-provincial payroll requirements.
Experience with and or working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce is required. Experience with unionized and or manufacturing payroll environment will have an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes : Excellent written and spoken communication skills (French is an asset). Proficient with Microsoft applications with adaptability to learn new applications.
Intermediate or knowledge of MS Excel is required. Confidentiality and tact in dealing with personal payroll information.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy. A self-starter with strong planning and organization skills.
