Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintain a proactive safety program ensuring that all personnel are fully acquainted with the safety rules and that they carry out their duties in accordance with established safety practices.
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met including TDG, WHMIS, FDA, Health Canada, Controlled Drugs security and label cage security.
  • Provide leadership and coaching support to direct reports to encourage innovation in work practices and services across departments.
  • Manage and guide compliance of inventory control practices with the use of BPCS
  • Develop and recommend improvements in material handling and storage systems.
  • Develop a cost efficient warehouse and distribution process related to material and people flow
  • Perform cost / benefit analysis in support of proposed process improvements
  • Expected outcomes are improved productivity, reduced cycle times, and decreased costs.
  • Oversee the flow and handling raw materials, activities, packaging components, finished goods from receiving , QA sampling, storage to production operation to the final finished goods shipments
  • Complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA’s)
  • Initiate, and follow through with actions required to close Change Controls
  • Participate in Internal, Customer and Regulatory Audits.
  • Responsible for all reporting.

    Background and Experience :

  • Strong people management and leadership skills are required in managing, coaching, mentoring, guiding, developing and motivating the warehouse / distribution team.
  • Highly organized and service oriented.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems (BPCS), Windows environment, and material handling technology and their application.
  • Analytical and problem solving abilities and the application of innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Unquestioned standards of business ethics and personal integrity.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative team environment and establish trust at all levels in the organization.
  • Knowledge of Warehousing and Material Movement best practices.
  • Understanding of Inventory Management best practices.
  • University degree in Business or Science.
  • Professional designation an asset.
  • Minimum 7 years logistics management experience preferably in the health care industry in a supervisory capacity
  • Education :

    University - Bachelor's Degree / 3-4 Year Degree
