We seek a highly competent and professional Health Safety Environment Quality Specialist for our Calliope site. The town of Calliope is 25km west of Gladstone.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this key role partners with plant leadership and other senior managers organisationally to complete, monitor, report and improve all health and safety, environmental and quality activities in line with Graymont, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
The HSEQ Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all employees and contractors are trained in, and understand, their safety and environmental responsibilities.
As an advocate for safety, environment and quality, you will :
Report and investigate safety and environment accidents / incidents for prevention of reoccurrence
Run injury management, medical surveillance and return to work programs, plus work cover reviews
Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring, analyse results, and report on site compliance to regulatory and environmental license conditions
Accompany auditors and regulatory inspectors during on-site inspections with the Plant Manager. Oversee any corrective actions arising from identified observations
Conducting regular product testing, submitting results for Quality Control approval, managing non-conforming product and contributing to improvement efforts
Delivering training to employees, including but not limited to, sampling, testing and knowledge of quality related company procedures
Facilitate Community meetings, sponsorships and interactions. Develop and coordinate plant rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will have qualifications in WH&S and Environment Management or equivalent. You have a high level of knowledge of relevant regulations, acts, and legislation, a valid driver’s license, and skills across the Microsoft office suite.
You have the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and relationships.
You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for this role.
