Position Summary

The Reinsurance Annuity Analyst will support basic administrative functions within the reinsurance administration outsourcing team.

These functions usually entail maintaining policy or cession records on administrative systems, preparing reconciliations and roll-

forward reporting, and handling reinsurance company inquiries. The objective of this team is to deliver high quality and controlled reinsurance administrative services to LOGiQ³'s clients in a highly efficient manner.

Here's specifically how this person will contribute...

  • Administer all necessary facets of reinsurance administration services including processing premium, and reinsurance treaty review and maintenance.
  • With a focus on annuity administration and financial reconciliations, preparing roll forward reporting for account values .

  • Ensure data quality on administration system.
  • Annuity Monthly and Quarterly Financial reconciliations for cash flows and account values
  • Support running of monthly, quarterly and annual administration cycles by reviewing and processing cycle exceptions and reviewing reporting output.
  • Execute a variety of reinsurance processes currently done using MS Access databases and / or MS Excel worksheets or SQL.
  • Participate in projects as required including business requirements, data analysis and documentation for annuity products.
  • Respond to ad hoc internal or reinsurer requests.
  • How do we know you are the person we are looking for?

  • Proven experience with annuities or pension administration
  • In depth knowledge of the different annuity products and calculations associated with daily interest and other expenses and charges.
  • Education - because of our work with data, numbers and business processes - we're thinking degrees or diplomas in Math, Actuarial, Accounting, Business Administration or FSRI (Fellow Secure Retirement Institute) Certificate
  • The technical and data skills : we're looking for your hands-on experience with using database structures and Excel (you can write your own macros, and use a variety of functions) SQL
  • Analytical and strong prioritization abilities - we work with a lot (and we mean A LOT!) of datasets and deadlines. A strong attention to detail is a must!

  • What additional experience helps to cement this?

  • Knowledge of accounting concepts.
  • Work experience in the pension or financial services industry.
  • Ability to work with large data sets to recognize systemic trending issues and / or data anomalies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and MS Access a plus.
