Reporting to the Section Head (Facility Manager), the Operations Specialist is responsible for assigned work in the MPF in accordance with the MPF Facility Authorization document and references therein, compliance programs, and applicable facility procedures.

The Mo-99 Production Facility is conducting work to repatriate material to the USA and safely shutdown MPF.

This position will primarily focus on duties of facility operations, maintenance control coordination, or operating procedure improvement depending on the position held by the individual at the time.

DUTIES

Reporting to the Section Head (Facility Manager), the Operations Specialist is responsible for assigned work in the MPF in accordance with the MPF Facility Authorization document and references therein, compliance programs, and applicable facility procedures.

The Mo-99 Production Facility is conducting work to repatriate material to the USA and safely shutdown MPF

Carries out general Operations Specialist tasks including :

  • Provide first and rapid response to breakdowns, delays and other situations that develop in MPF;
  • Conduct MPF safety meetings effectively and in accordance with the Conduct of Operations;
  • Prepare MPF operating logs and weekly reports according to procedures and on a routine basis;
  • Ensure trade support is provided and schedule work by trades;
  • Review the operations logs and run sheets and prepares weekly reports based on these;
  • Updates assigned procedures as required;
  • Act as job leader for operations and maintenance tasks;
  • Employ event free tools in daily tasks and ensure those under supervision do the same;
  • EnsuressSpares and consumables are on hand;
  • Routine maintenance is planned, scheduled and carried out as required in accordance with procedures;
  • Reactive maintenance is provided as needed to minimize down time and in accordance with procedures;
  • Maintenance and Operating procedures are developed and revised as needed;
  • Maintenance organizations are providing sufficient support;
  • Maintenance gaps are identified and addressed with appropriate priority;
  • Compliance with maintenance-related conduct of operations procedures
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Honours Bachelor in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing or membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.
  • Preference to candidates who have group 3, work permit, emergency preparedness, nuclear materials control and other similar training.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, including the ability to develop a collaborative team oriented to work in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, hazardous conditions or unusual production demands.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties and tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and to respond to challenging schedule demands.
  • Ability to work shift schedule.
