The Payroll Administrator is based in Markham, Ontario with work from home ability and typically reports directly to the Payroll Manager.
Their primary focus is performing tasks and responsibilities related to processing hourly (unionized) payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Accurate and timely data entry and processing of weekly timesheets
Setting up new employees, handling terminations and ROEs using HRDC WebROE
Processing of payroll payments via direct deposit and / or cheques
Respond to payroll inquiries from employees
Annual preparation of T4s
Ability to work with the unions
Interpret and update burden tables from union wage schedules, and monthly union payment reconciliation
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

Completed PCP or is enrolled in a CPA program
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years payroll experience preferably with unionized payroll exposure
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Intermediate to advanced knowledge and understanding of :
JD Edwards or ERP system in-house usage
Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
