Business Analyst, Pulp

The Business Analyst, Pulp will focus on optimizing computer systems and business processes for West Fraser’s pulp mills.

Acting as the primary conduit of information between corporate IT and operations leadership, this role will play a key role in many strategic initiatives.

This is a great opportunity for an IT or corporate operations entry point with a large, reputable, Canadian company.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Be a lead resource in business process and system development for pulp operations
  • Document and define business functions, technical and process specifications, and reporting requirements
  • Developing system usage and data standards that enable common processes, reports, and skill development
  • Researching and evaluating new or upgraded technology solutions
  • Communicate application issues and opportunities to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders
  • Ensuring systems are used in an efficient and consistent manner through user support, documentation, and training
  • Perform preventative maintenance of select pulp-centric computer systems, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and so on.
  • Develop reporting and KPIs to support new and existing codes of practice
  • Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues
  • The successful candidate must have :

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or 3+ years relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and innovative; able to identify opportunities and turn them into corporate initiatives
  • Experience with any of the following is a benefit : Sharepoint / Office 365, Azure, C#, PowerBI (or other reporting tools), dataPARC, Osisoft Pi, IBM Maximo, Industry 4.
  • 0 enabling technologies.
