Our client is a successful operating mining company with operations in various countries and a very healthy financial outlook.

Who- the Company :

The company currently employs fewer than 20 individuals in the Vancouver office (many others employed at mining sites and subsidiary offices), and they are looking to grow over the next year The company is well-managed by an impressive leadership team which includes a CFO and a VP Finance.

The company has a tightknit and collaborative team culture with a classic work hard / play hard attitude. They are a group of self-starters who are excited to develop their own careers in tandem with the growth and success of the company.

What- the Role :

Our client is seeking to hire a new Senior Corporate Accountant . This individual will report directly into the Financial Controller who is a seasoned Big 4 CPA, CA.

There is also an Accounting Administrator on the team who is responsible for such things as AP, AR, and Payroll (the Senior Accountant will oversee and review their work).

The responsibilities the Sr. Acct. will be accountable for are diverse and include IFRS financial reporting (IFRS), MD&A and financial statement preparation, financial planning & analysis, consolidation work, process improvement projects, financial system optimization, tax, treasury, oversight of AP and payroll, etc.

Who- the Candidate :

We are seeking self-motivated high-performers who are team players and can also work independently. Soft skills such as excellent communication abilities, social EQ, and common sense are just as important as the technical accounting & finance skills.

  • Canadian CPA required (ideally legacy CPA, CA), or International equivalent.
  • Public practice training with a multi-national accounting firm is preferred.
  • Experience working in the HQ of a small public company is highly preferred, or potentially the subsidiary of a
  • Excellent MD&A and financial statement preparation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • The more diverse the accounting & finance skills, the better!
  • Systems savvy with experience using a mid-tier or large ERP is required, and experience with a financial system project (conversion, upgrade, implementation, optimization) is significant asset.
  • How Much :
