The Business Intelligence Analyst (BI Analyst) is responsible for analysing large data sets utilizing the WCB Business Analytic System (BAS), the Data Warehouse at the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board.
Employing advanced analytics methods, the BI Analyst will develop new ways to understand WCB data. Using an in-depth understanding of business processes and data, the BI Analyst will develop requirements to meet the business’ stated, and unstated needs.
The BI Analyst will teach advanced users in other departments best practices and methods in using the data from the BAS.
The BI Analyst responds to a wide range of inquiries from internal and external customers. This involves gathering requirements and data, statistically analysing the information, and preparing reports for use by a diverse audience.
Additionally, through ongoing analysis and working with operational areas, and ITS, the BI Analyst will improve the quality of the data being used.
Four (4) year University degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or Economics.
A minimum 3 years of experience in :
Summarizing and reporting of results in audience appropriate context.
Equivalent combination of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence, may be considered.
