The Senior Manager, Leadership Development works closely with the Director, Leadership Development to further develop the Leadership strategy in alignment with the larger talent strategy by leading the development and execution of multi-

faceted VP+ level programs for the Bank's leaders. This role leads and manages all activities in support of initiatives aimed at developing executives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

This position requires an individual with a solid understanding of the leadership development trends and best practices, seasoned project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations with ease.

Key Accountabilities

1. Lead the development and execution of executive leadership development programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives

  • Assess executive development needs, and collaborate with Leadership teams to develop and implement programs and solutions to increase leadership effectiveness
  • Establish an assessment framework to analyze and evaluate program outcomes and ROI to implement process improvements that increase effectiveness
  • Create scalable solutions that meet the broader leadership needs but also can be individualized for specific segments and business lines
  • Have familiarity with "Personal Learning Clouds" and build and lead the strategy to create a hybrid approach to moving executive development to a more personalized approach through new platforms and vendors that leverage Personal Learning Clouds
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement related to leadership development strategies, and initiatives / programs
  • 2. Create and implement governance model over ad hoc leadership development programs

  • Conduct internal audit and analysis on current Leadership development programs occurring across the enterprise with a recommendation on how to provide a governance model over these programs to support consistent and best in class execution
  • Continuously improve the enterprise processes for nominations and tracking Leadership development programs using automated tools (i.

  • Build tool kits and templates to support HR Business Partners and other stakeholders on executing business line specific development needs
  • Work with Directors of Leadership and HRBPs to understand current needs of the business and offer recommendations and solutions from a leadership perspective including, if necessary, business specific programming
  • 3. Define and implement the communications strategy for Leadership initiatives

  • Develop a consistent communications roadmap for all participants actively participating in leadership development journey that includes their managers and executive sponsor of participant
  • Support the articulation of the Leadership strategy, vision and objectives from a development perspective in partnership with Director, Leadership Development and VP, Leadership
  • Ensure communications are clear, concise, consistent, and executive-ready to enhance understanding, engagement, and are conveyed appropriately to stakeholders to support for the Bank's Leadership development priorities
  • 4. Maintain current on leadership development trends and best practices in market

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise / advice and leverage relationships across Global HR
  • Sustain an external network of industry leaders and subject matter experts to stay abreast of best-in-class business practices in Leadership Development
  • Inform and advise on best practices in the fields of human capital management, communications and leadership in order to contribute to the advancement of the Bank's leadership agenda
  • 5. Set program targets and guidelines to ensure deliverables are aligned with development needs and priorities

  • Lead and drive continuous improvement related to leadership development strategies, and initiatives / programs
  • Act as an escalation point when challenges are met and connects with stakeholders when required to remove impediments and / or devise new action plans
  • Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience designing, developing and implementing development initiatives for global and / or financial services organizations
  • Experience with complex / ambiguous / ad hoc situations requiring out of the box solutions, executed with minimal direction and guidance;
  • situations may include working under aggressive time pressures and / or against competing priorities

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to apply quantitative analysis to outcomes / trends to assess opportunity for continuous improvement from concept to execution
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to motivate a team and design, develop and implement multiple enterprise-
  • wide projects concurrently within time, cost, and quality constraints

  • Demonstrated understanding of current and emerging leadership development strategies as well as latest best practice research
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with MS Office : PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Advanced degree specializing in Leadership, Organizational Change, Business, or Strategy (e.g., MBA); and / or
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
