Role and Responsibilities
Inspect welded products according to the frequencies and criteria required by the technical specifications and engineering drawings and complete the documentation;
Daily audit to ensure that instructions are followed during all production phases before, during and after welding and to complete documentation;
Participates in the treatment of non-conformities surrounding welds on all projects;
Follows up on corrective actions;
Complete the quality assurance part of the welding documentation, including welders’ operating procedures and performance, according to the results of qualifications and according to the criteria of the applicable welding standards (AWS or CSA).
Proposes improvements to welding quality assurance and quality control processes or instructions based on applicable standards, customer technical specifications and drawings, and company policies and cultures.
Must work closely with the welding engineer, product line managers and production team;
Any other related duties as requested by his / her immediate supervisor.
Apply the Code of Ethics for Inspectors as defined in Section 6 of CSA Standard W178.2;
Welding Inspector Certification Level 1 of CSA Standard W178.2 or has the prerequisites;
Knowledge of AWS D1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.6 and / or CSA W47.1, W 47.2, W59 and W59.2 welding standards.
Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive inspection methods (asset);
DEP in welding-assembly (asset);
Knowledge of all welding procedures (asset);
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
Ease of teamwork;
Curiosity, ease of learning and good communicator.
