The Butler Did It Catering Company has been Vancouver’s premier caterer for over 20 years. At the Butler we provide all of our clients with exceptional food, beverage and event services.

Our services range from daily corporate, to weddings, corporate galas, memorials and everything in between! Whether its catering small office lunches or providing over 30,000 meals for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic games, the Butler Did It Catering’s dedication to quality and our community is what separates us from the pack.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Sales & Events, the Sales & Event Coordinator is an integral member of the Sales Department.

The role consists of the full-cycle selling of catering services for special events including organizing & facilitating client events, venue-vetting, tasters and decorations / rentals all while providing excellent customer service and creating edible memories for all clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for incoming events inquiries
  • Propose and sell our catering services, build client and venue relationships, and coordinate events for clients.
  • Follow-up on sales leads, clients, and potential business in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct site inspections of event spaces as required.
  • Conduct client tastings during and outside of regular business hours.
  • Participate in weekly sales / logistics meeting to ensure that all departments are up to date on the details of booked events.
  • Prepare and distribute all event information and paperwork (info sheets, floorplans, timelines, billing, contracts, BEOs, etc.).
  • Seek out new opportunities to increase revenue venue and vendor partnerships, new markets, etc.
  • Perform any and all other tasks which are assigned by Sales Manager and other Senior Management.
  • Execute and sales and marketing initiatives as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • Strive and achieve monthly sales targets

  • Attends on-site events as required ensure clients satisfaction
  • Understand the full sales cycle and know how to close a sale

  • Passion for creating exceptional events, and up to date on event trends
  • Creative and resourceful, and able to assess and handle difficult situations
  • Must have a flexible schedule and able to work some evenings and weekends
  • Qualifications

    1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a coordination role

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in hospitality, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must have Serving It Right Certification can be acquired up hiring
  • Sales experience is an asset
  • Experience with Caterease is an asset
  • Food safe certification is an asset
