Position Summary : The required PCO will support a very large and very complex multimillion dollar program and its project streams.

This includes planning, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific project deliverable ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

S / he will track assigned projects and provide updates on status of projects to the PMO, Project Leads and various management personnel.

The Project Manager / Project Coordinator will manage project activities using corporate project management tools and methodology and provide direction and support to project teams.

S / he will review and assist business units in the preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets, and collaborate effectively with the required business units, departments and project teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.

As part of the PMO, the PM will assist in the development and support of project methodology and supporting tools and corporate project support activities.

Candidates must have strong organizational skills and have a very high level of competency with both Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.

They must have experience maintaining and reporting accurate Status / Watershed events / Financials for medium to large programs in order to support effective cost management.

They will be expected to be able to build and maintain large and complex Microsoft Project schedules.

Qualifications : The successful candidate must have initiative and be able to function effectively and pro-actively with minimal direction.

They must have fluent English language skills and be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and written.

They must have a good working knowledge of both Microsoft PowerPoint and Word in order to be able to assist with the production of executive level reporting.

  • Experience delivering a variety of business projects including : operational, business process and business transformation will be an asset;
  • Familiarity with various project lifecycles, including process and development approaches; Excellent presentation skills;
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines are essential; Demonstrated excellence in communication, customer service and team building with the ability to initiate and model positive change;
  • Familiarity with corporate project reporting and gating structures.

  • Complete Project Management Life Cycle exposure : Solid understanding of all the phases of Project Management (initiation, Requirement gathering, development, implementation, testing, UAT, and Tracking / reporting)
  • MS Project : Excellent use of the various tracking and forecasting tools in MS Project, proficiency in managing small scale projects.
  • Cost Management : An established track record managing project spends, referencing against projections, forecasting of cost overruns, measuring ROI.
  • Report Building : An established ability to build report writing tools, especially in MS Excel ad Word, PPP to facilitate tracking, presentations to Excecutives and reporting.
