Primary Purpose : We are seeking one research assistant to join our research group in the Ergonomics Laboratory within CCHSA for assistance in processing motion capture data.

The successful applicant will use VICON Nexus 2.8 software to label and fill marker trajectories of the lower limbs recorded during participant ingress and egress from simulated farm machinery.

Training is provided, but previous experience is an asset.

Nature of Work : This position will report to Drs. Catherine Trask and David Kingston. Scheduling is flexible on discussion and agreement with supervisors.

The role will involve bi-weekly meetings with supervisors. Overnight travel is not required.

Accountabilities :

  • Analyze data to answer established research questions
  • Assist with documenting data analysis protocols
  • Deliver internal status reports on project progress
  • Qualifications & Education : University course work in kinesiology, rehabilitation science, anatomy, biomechanics,, physics, epidemiology, or occupational health.

    Previous experience with motion capture and movement analysis is an asset. Other combinations of educational qualifications and work experience may be considered.

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Competent with technical systems and quantitative analysis software
  • Strong English writing skills (technical and report writing)
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Assets :

  • Experience in occupational health or rehabilitation settings
  • Working with diverse teams, including faculty and research staff
  • Experience with motion capture technology and associated software
