Description

As an Operations Manager, your duties will be to supervisedaily processing operations associated with color production on multiple lines.

You will supervise production operators as well as perform administrative dutiesfor a multiple-shift operation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Oversee day-to-day operations, superviseemployees and plan shift assignments.

Monitor progress during assigned shift and makeappropriate adjustments to maintain standards.

Responsible for product and employee safety,productivity, inventory accuracy, yields and cost control.

Ensure on-time system allocation of rawmaterials and timely receipt of finished batches.

Monitor quality results and investigate root causeof issues when they occur.

Instruct and enforce safe operating proceduresand methods

  • Know and enforce GMP rules.
  • Supportany Capital projects for the site. Thissupport may come from direct project management, oversight of a project fromthe site Process Developer or interaction with the Color Group Engineeringteam.

    Conduct operations to meet established coststandards. Review production edits daily and identify reasons for usage / yieldvariances. Report on performance.

    Document work performance and attendance issuesas necessary and initiate disciplinary action when required.

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or MechanicalEngineering with a minimum of five years manufacturing and three years supervisoryexperience.

    Skills & Abilities :

  • Leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.

    Knowledge of formula conversions andunderstanding of inventory interpretations and solutions to material shortages.

  • Experience in JD Edwards strongly preferred.
  • Working Environment / Physical Demands :

    Work is in a professional office andmanufacturing plant environment.
