Mechanical Maintainer / Hoisting Engineer - Waste Management Operations is responsible for :
Perform all hoisting and rigging operations using a variety of hoisting equipment, such as cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, etc;
Perform routine maintenance such as minor repairs or adjustments, cleaning, greasing, oiling, fueling on hoisting and rigging equipment such as fork lifts, mobile cranes, stair climbers in order to maintain a safe and efficient state of operations;
Maintain good housekeeping practices of all work areas, tools and equipment, adhering to provincial, federal and CNL regulations in order to provide a safe and efficient working environment;
Immediately report any safety concerns and / or infractions. Apply Event Free Tools and Pre-Job Brief information throughout the execution of assigned work and models this behavior and knowledge to others;
Assist in the training, coaching and mentoring of apprentices in safe workshop practices and procedures including work planning, assisting and development of skills by demonstrating techniques, describing suitable methods; and
Report problems, suggest improvements, report progress to supervisor and identify further training needs.
Must possess a valid Journeyman Hoisting Engineer license;
Must be able to follow direction, work within approved work controls and be a positive member of a diverse team.
Ability to :
Work with WMO colleagues to ensure safe hoisting is performed; and
Make recommendations to implement more effective approached to WMO operations.
