Senior Financing Specialist

What is the opportunity?

This is a credit specialist who supports a high performing commercial banking sales team. The individual completes the analysis and documentation required for annual renewals and new or increased credit transactions, is the credit expert in the market, and aids the Commercial Account Managers (CAM) with portfolio management and compliance support.

The role contributes to an exceptional client experience by providing superior business, financial and credit advice.As a strategic partner to the commercial account manager, you are responsible for effectively and proactively managing the credit process thereby enabling the CAM to have more client-facing time.

What will you do?

  • Providing quality business analysis and credit
  • Client Solutions and New Client Acquisition demonstrating RBC’s capability to provide creative financial solutions in a timely manner and delivering credit solutions that meet or exceed needs while effectively and proactively managing the credit process.
  • Business and Risk Management exercising due diligence in recommending credit applications, working in collaboration with Risk Management, especially in supporting risk processes and guidelines;
  • and providing proactive portfolio management support to CAM

    Must-have

  • University degree, ideally in commerce, business administration, or related experience; MBA, CPA or CFA is an interesting asset
  • Needs to be bilingual, French and English
  • Must have proven track record in financial and credit analysis
  • Must have specialized industry expertise in a past role (e.g. real estate, healthcare, agriculture)
  • Minimum 3 years in Commercial Lending in a Financial Institution strongly preferred
  • Must be able to give financial advice ,solutions structuring and option .
  • Nice-to-have

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Deep products and services knowledge dependent on industry specialization
  • New client acquisition skills (e.g., pitching the value proposition, lead generation, initial customer contact and cold calling, asking for referrals)
